Who We Are

The Center is a true grassroots community effort with ties to other organizations to provide services and support to the community.  We provide information and referral about free-time youth activities, recreational opportunities, community events.

Our Mission

The purpose of the Community Center is to operate a multipurpose communiy based center in the Lewisburg, PA area that serves all age groups, is locally controlled, frugally managed, and representative of a wide variety of community interests.  We:

provide a safe place and facilitate recreational and educational activities for all ages.

bring together citizens from different backgrounds to identify needs and find solutions to improve the community.

offer youth and adults the opportunity to develop the skills needed to become active community   members i.e. self respect, respect for others, a desire to improve the community, and the skills to work effectively together.

What We Offer

Community Projects of the Center

The Community Center is a resourceto provide assistance to individuals and groups who want to support and improve our community. A community wide stop smoking campaign and a skating center are some present suggested projects.

Camp USA

A weeklong Celebration in Learning Diversity for 5th & 6th grade boys and girls.


Lewisburg Area Mediation Project


Educates the community about mediation as an alternative to the legal system and provides professionally trained mediators for disputes between neighbors, landlord-tenants, work situations, etc......


Mens Resource Center Project

A 26 week, with follow up, court-referredprogram for men who batter to learn how to stop the violence; involves the Battered Women's Center (S.V.W.I.T.), the legal, medical, and social services.



The Donald L. Heiter Community Center is a nonprofit {501 (c) (3)} organization as determined by the Internal Revenue Service and is also a

United Way Agency

As such, we have many needs and we rely on the goodness of the community to donate in any way that you are able.

We do maintain a Wish List, and take donations, annual pledges, and we are always willing to take on volunteers.
